Central Kalahari
This 52 000 square kilometre reserve in central Botswana is one of the largest protected and unspoilt parts of Africa, most of which is totally inaccessible. Some San people still live in some parts of the park.
Your adventure into the Kalahari will take you to Deception Valley and Piper Pan, where desert game is plentiful in the first few months of the year. It is during this time, just after the annual rains, when the Kalahari is green and filled with flowers as far as the eye can see.
At night you hear calls of the male barking geckos and the ever elusive Kalahari Lions, in the distance...
